This fact is evident in the strategic plan of Dubai (2007 -2015), announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Prime Minister and Vice President, and Ruler of Dubai Excellence and Excellence Models.

Typically, managers are aware of the term quality management and total quality management (TQM). Some scholars argue that excellence is just another term for TQM, while others mention that its rather an extension for TQM i.e. a more holistic management approach. Peters and Waterman (1982) were the first to introduce the term Excellence to the management literature in their text book: In Search of Excellence. Over the last two decades, excellence models have been recognized as an effective way of assessing and managing businesses, by describing a set of criteria assumed to cover all aspects of the business management process.

Dubai Quality group is pleased to announce the Quality & Business Excellence Conference 2012 in collaboration with American Society of Quality (ASQ) based on the theme of “Sustaining positive outcome through Excellence”
