Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Quality Group Reiterate Commitment to Promoting Quality and Innovation
Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s integrated free zone technology park, today received a delegation from Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organisation for the promotion of quality and excellence in business practices, with the purpose of identifying ways to mutually foster quality and innovation at the work place.
Senior officials of DSOA including Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Executive VP – Commercial at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, received the delegation that included Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Chairman, DQG, and Badriya Al Tamimi, Managing Director of DQG at the DSOA headquarters.
As part of their mutual association over the past five years, the two organisations reaffirmed their commitment to supporting quality-focused projects. It was also agreed that Dubai Silicon Oasis will continue to avail DQG’s quality and business excellence services on a periodic basis through renewing the investor partner agreement between both organizations. On the sidelines of the meeting, Dr Yousef Al Akraf presented the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority with a certificate of appreciation for its active investment in DQG’s strategies and initiatives.
Dr. Yousef Al Akraf said: “Technology-based industries are critical components of the sustainable development agenda of Dubai and the entire UAE. Dubai Quality Group is therefore deeply committed to promote quality and excellence in this key sector and ultimately establish a strong foundation that would underpin the long-term growth of technology industries. DQG’s continued partnership with Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is an important step towards realizing these objectives, giving us significant leverage to develop and introduce new concepts and ideas that will further consolidate the UAE’s reputation as a leading innovator in the field of advanced technologies.”
DSOA has been a member of Dubai Quality Group since 2007. The partnership has allowed DSO staff to benefit from training courses offered by DQG and contributed to the development of quality measures at the free zone. The collaboration is part of enhancing cooperation among government entities through the sharing of knowledge and information.
Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi said: “DSOA is committed to delivering the best in quality and business acumen to staff and clients. We are confident that furthering our collaboration with DQG will help us enrich our quality standards and drive the adoption of world-class business practices across the integrated hi-tech park.”
