Dubai Quality Group honored the most innovative ideas and significant initiatives during the 9th edition of ‘Ideas.Arabia International Conference 2014’ held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority at Dubai Government and Chairman of Emirates Airlines, at the Palace Hotel, Downtown Dubai from 22-23 April 2014.

“This year, we witnessed remarkable competition between the proposals submitted. Each and every submission was of an extremely high standard and I would like to thank all the participants for their involvement and for showcasing once more the impressive level of innovation emerging from the UAE. I would also, I would like to congratulate the winners in each category and urge them continue to perform groundbreaking work in their respective field,” she added.

This year, the conference agenda included a range of important issues proposals such as implementation mechanisms, presentations and discussion forums on social innovation and the review of international best practice in methods that seek to engage employees, customers and suppliers. The launch of ‘Ideas.Arabia International Conference 2014’ falls in line Dubai Quality Group’s wider effort to promote a culture of innovation and creativity among the nation’s public and private institutions.

The ‘Idea of the Year Award’ award was issued to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), with National Bonds ranking second with Dubai Police and Umm Hakim School coming in together in the third place. Information regarding the remaining awards is outlined below with each Organisation listed in respect to its position of first, second or third place.

The ‘Technology’ category: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC); UAE Land Department and Sabahiya Secondary School and Umm Suqeim- Majid Learning Center (joint third). The ‘Finance’ category: Dubai Municipality; The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police. The ‘Health and Safety’ category: Dubai Municipality; du and RTA. The ‘Environment’ category: DEWA; RTA and Umm Hakim School. The ‘Productivity’ category: Emirates Transport; Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) and Land Department. The ‘Customer Service’ category: Dubai Municipality; Dubai Customs and Al Manar Model School for Girls.
