Ahmed bin Saeed & Mariam Al-Roumi at EWA 2012 ceremony

Under the patronage and in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Emirates Airline & Group and Honorary Patron of the Dubai Quality Group, and graced by the presence of H.E. Mariam Al-Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs, the Emirates Women Award (EWA) of the Dubai Quality Group (DQG), announced the winners of the award in its ninth cycle of year 2012, and honoured them in various categories of the award.
The ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, and attended by a number of VIPs and dignitaries, as well as officials involved with the award, representatives of businesswomen councils at the UAE level, and dozens of businesswomen working in the country, in addition to the winners and honourees.
Last month, the EWA Assessment Jury held a meeting during which the selection of winners for this cycle took place, which verified that the candidates met all criteria and conditions of the award. The jury also compared the businesses and projects submitted by these candidates for the competition. They looked closely at their proposals, before selecting the winners in various categories.
According to the announcement by the EWA Supreme Committee, the Roll of Honour winner was … … . The winners in different categories were as follows: … … in the Leadership category, … … in the Strategic & Financial Planning category, … … in the Career Achievements category, … … in the Community Contribution category, and … … in the Innovation category.
In the Professional Category, the overall winner was … …, and the runner-up was … … . … … was named overall winner in the business category.
Mr. Saleh Janeeh, DQG Chairman, deeply thanked H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum for his support and patronage to EWA, stressing that, “this innovative award continues for the ninth consecutive year on the vision of our excellence-creator, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.”
Janeeh added: “In its successive years, EWA notched countless successes and achieved more self-confidence and power, which is what positions it as a title that is highly regarded within the industry. It has shown that in the world of business excellence, there are no limits to innovation by women, just as there are no limits to development and ambitions.”
He explained that EWA is a motivator-initiative adopted by DQG to honour business owners and professionals who have excelled in the areas of their different specializations. It also remains a coveted platform for great ambitions and aspirations that start from small ideas. “From this standpoint, stands forth the mighty position of EWA, which does not stop to provide all types of support and motivation to every interested businesswoman, business owner, entrepreneur and professional.”
