Dubai Quality Group honoured women entrepreneurs
Times are changing in the corporate world as more women are competing with men and the UAE continues to set an example where growing numbers of Emiratis are successful female entrepreneurs.
To celebrate the outstanding achievements of Emirati women who have excelled in various fields the Dubai Quality Group on Wednesday honoured their contributions to the development of community.
The eleventh edition of the Emirates Women Award under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Honorary Patron for Dubai Quality Group, was well attended by a cross-section of business community in the UAE along with senior government officials.
The theme of this year’s awards “Celebrating Excellence” reflected a new culture that must be prevalent in the work environment so that women deal with their career responsibilities dynamically and efficiently, and this should constitute a part of the work culture and life culture as well. Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Chairman Dubai Quality Group mentioned that the aim of this award was to highlight and celebrate the outstanding achievements of women who have excelled in their respective professions.
It was noted that the women have diligently served and continue to do so as an overall development process in line with the UAE strategic vision. The honouring on the other hand serves as an incentive for the young generation to exert more efforts and offer a role model that provides inspiration towards better achievement.
The award management uses several criteria in selecting the winners including leadership, innovation, community contributions, career achievements, and strategic and financial planning. The applications were divided into two main categories: Business Owners Category and Professionals Category including employees in the public and private sectors.
The winners were selected by a team of assessors and jury whose members possess high expertise, integrity, and reliability. The jury also adopted a set of rules and regulations for each category.
By hosting this award, we reaffirm our commitment to boosting and improving the standards of quality and excellence at work and our belief in the importance of the Emirati woman’s role women in all areas, said Dr Al Akraf.
“We are reaching out to women who excel in new fields as individually talented in their respective fields such as Art, Sports, Science, etc. This wouldn’t have been achieved without the great and unique support provided to women from UAE’s leadership and government. And I would like to focus on a very important factor which is the family role in this aspect, where a woman manages both personal & professional commitment with support of her family,” said Badriya Al Tamimi, Managing Director, Dubai Quality Group The Abu Dhabi Business Women Council were the main sponsor for its continued support in addition to Etisalat Services Holdings and Dewa as Platinum sponsors and the British Orchard Nursery as Gold sponsors.
