Dubai Quality Group conclude the Ideas Arabia 14th International Conference & Competition 2019

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, Dubai Quality Group Conclude the Ideas Arabia 14th International Conference & Competition 2019.

The conference this year was held under the theme of "Ideas Owners, Own the future" where is the Innovation is vital for the survival of organizations at the current time. To involve business talents and to explore innovative ways of enrolling their ideas, time, and skills.

The conference was graced by the participants, delegates, business leaders, industry experts, and professionals brought together from public sectors and leading organizations to discuss Suggestion & Rewarding Scheme from around the world, and they were greeted by Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Alqasimi, Chairman Department of Civil Aviation Ras Al-Khaimah, member of Board of General Civil Aviation Authority, member of RAK executive council, Engr. Hassan Omar, Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, Board Members, and Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, Chairman of Ideas Arabia & UAE Ideas.

This year the participants exceeded 40% compared to previous years, as received 150 submissions to the Ideas Arabia competition, from UAE and GCC countries. Also, the assessors have been chosen with a high professional for the evaluation of the award categories to ensure transparency, integrity, and accuracy of results.

Engr. Hassan Omar, Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, opened the conference with welcome note thanked all the conference’s audiences and sponsors for their supporting. He pointed out that the Ideas Arabia Subgroup under DQG was able to facilitate this unique platform since 2006 to where it is today heads by Mr. Hussain Fardan who has brought this conference as a signature DQG event, where experts in suggestion scheme come to share their Ideas, knowledge, and experience following the right path in development.”

The conference had international, regional and local speakers from various industries and businesses in both public and private sectors to share, network, learn and talk, along with the leaders and experts came together to meet at the conference to share their ideas, and to join hands in making UAE an innovation destination.

The welcome note of the chairman followed with the opening speech of Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Alqasimi, Chairman Department of Civil Aviation Ras Al-Khaimah, member of Board of General Civil Aviation Authority, member of RAK executive council. He pointed out that the innovator is an individual who introduces a new idea which makes an impact that becomes a cornerstone for the other innovations”.

The conference was eventful, with Speakers from Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, Du talk about "Alice in Digital Wonderland", Prof. Christopher Abraham, Senior Vice President - Institutional Development, Professor of Leadership, Design Thinking & Organizational Behavior, S P Jain School of Global Management talk about “Reimagining Innovation in the Era of Digital Disruption”, Dr. Anne van Ewijk, Assistant Professor of Management, Abu Dhabi University she talks about “Stimulate Intrapreneurship, Foster Individual Innovation”, Sid Ahmed Benraouane, Ph.D. Professor & Digital Transformation Expert, University of Minnesota, USA, talk about ‘Managing Serendipity – Why an Innovation Management System matter?’, Deborah Webster, Founder and Innovation Catalyst, AMANI CIRCLE, talk about ‘Finding Hidden Innovators’, and at the end of the conference Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, Chairman of Ideas Arabia & UAE Ideas.

The Ideas Arabia Competition 2019 was conducted yearly along with the annual conference, to recognize the most significant ideas implemented by companies during the previous year. This competition seeks to identify employees and organizations for their outstanding ideas. This competition provides an opportunity for participating companies to benchmark against other leading organizations and acts as a motivational tool for employees.

Participation in this competition had many benefits. It provided additional recognition to the employees, and highlights how involving the employees can benefit the organization. It helped in imparting one’s experience to other companies and provided an opportunity for one’s employees to learn from practices followed in other organizations.

At the end of the conference, the speakers, sponsors, and the assessors awarded along with the most exciting part, with the announcement of the winners of the Ideas Arabia Competition 2019 marking the finale of the event.
